Minutes from TCAT Region IV Meeting

·         The Region IV meeting was held in the Exhibit Hall A2 and A3 at the TCAT Conference in Galveston Texas.  The meeting was called to order at 9:15 am by Region IV President, Winni Petersons Fort Bend ISD.

·         Kelly Skarda, Goose Creek - encourage coordinators to attend the Surplus Summit on Tuesday - discussion on revamping the surplus and depository. 

·         Karla Chrisman, Brazosport ISD, mentioned the Legislative will be rezoning.  Please contact your State Representative for details.

·         Discussion regarding Supplemental Science materials.

·         Follett Educational Publisher will host the reception Monday evening. & Hayes Software will host Casino night.

·         Russell Owen, Dallas ISD passed away and a Scholarship have been established in his honor.

·         Summer Institute for new coordinators will be held summer of 2011.  No date has been set.  Also, there will be EMAT training in spring of 2011.

·         Any coordinator interested in running for the TCAT Board must commit to four meetings a year.

·         John Bridges, Fort Bend ISD is running for President-Elect, Joel Lopez, Houston ISD and Kellie Skarda, Goose Creek ISD for Executive Committee.

·         Motion to approve September minutes – Karla Chrisman, Brazosport ISD and Kelly Skarda, Goose Creek ISD.

·         Stella Hinojosa, Stafford MSD won $50 cash door prize.

·          Winni Petersons FBISD informed the members that the Region IV website will no longer be funded.  We discussed getting sponsors to help fund the maintenance cost. The charge is $300 per year to maintain.

·         Joel Lopez, Houston ISD, mention to collect dues from members to keep the website.  Please email any suggestions to re-vamp website.

·         Jill Cook, Clear Creek ISD, encourage members to contact the Rotary Club for out of adoption textbooks.

·          Members were encouraged to send out Publisher Agreement needs to be sent out before your district board meeting.

·         Next TCAT meeting will be held at Stafford MSD.  Publisher will be there to discuss how materials will be shipped.

·         Vicki Peterson of Brazosport ISD made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Jill Cook, Clear Creek ISD.
