•           The meeting was held at the Clear Creek ISD Technology Lab. The meeting was called to order at 9:22am by board President Winni Petersons, Fort Bend ISD. 

•           Minutes were distributed and read, a motion to approve the minutes was made by John Bridges, Fort Bend ISD and Second by Jill Cook, Clear Creek ISD.

•           Introduce Region IV Board Members and new Coordinators.  The new members need to join TCAT.

•           The Summer Institute for new coordinators will be held June 13, 2011 at Clear Creek ISD conducted by Jill Cook and John Bridges, Fort Bend ISD.

•           John Bridges talked about the House Bill No. 6 possible being passed and the possibility of school districts being responsible for shipping of Textbooks/Instructional Materials.

•           Discussion about the allotment IMA possibly being $40-$140 per student spent on Instructional Materials and Technology.

•           Winni Peterson introduced Tom Deliganis to discuss a report from Austin Texas about Senate Bill/House Bill 6, Supplemental Science Adoption and Proclamation 2011.  Handout will be posted on the website.

•           Discussion of possibly transferring ownership of textbooks from the state  to owned by school districts.  Textbooks will no longer belong to the state.  This includes existing adoption such as: Math, Social Studies, etc.

•           Please make sure you inform your Superintendent that there is a possibility textbooks and consumables will not be in the classroom by the first day of school.

•           September meeting 2011, we will be electing a Secretary and President-Elect.  If you are interesting in running, please let Winni Peterson know.

•           Michael Wang and Barry Trickett are new members from Hayes Software. Dan Stewart, Webmaster for Region IV website was in attendance.

•           Next Region meeting will be in September at Sheldon ISD.

•           Winnie Peterson introduced the used textbook vendors: Doug Stahl – Budgetext, Craig Richardson – Textbook Warehouse, and Chris Jackson – Follett.

•           Chris Jackson – Follett will pickup out of adoption textbooks – just let him know 72 hours in advanced.  David Martin – Recover Texas – out of adoption textbooks.

•           Meeting was adjourned 11:10am.
